So, I’ve been definitely thinking the houses’ crappy inner courtyards needed a remodel for a while. And I took a tiny courtyard– and put a little garden inside it! With some carrots planted.

I also took the boring, useless wing of the building, and decided to make some changes to it. It used to be home to offices on the first floor and first floor mezzanine, with a chapel on the upper floor.

I tore out the second floor chapel, and replaced it with a giant winter garden! I was inspired by the ones in the winter palace in St. Petersburg. This one didn’t totally live up to that image in my head, but it’s good enough for now.

Finally, I took an old stateroom/hallway, and tore out the innards, including the guest bedrooms and hallways in the attic above them:

And replaced it with a 4-story library!

Finally, I took the old council chamber, and renovated it into an extension of the library. Sadly, I forgot to take a “before” picture, but I’m glad with how it turned out!

Well, I think that’s all for now- I’m not in the mood to write up a super long thing about these changes. I just knew I needed a better library. And I’m still not super happy with the new 4 story library, especially the way I handled the ceiling, but I might make some changes to it one day. We’ll see!
that’s all for now~~~
